WHAT TO EXPECT

We understand that it can be a little intimidating visiting a church for the first time. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions by church guests:

Do you provide child care / a nursery?

Yes.

We provide teaching by age group at from 9:30am - 10:10am before the worship service. We also  provide nursery and children's church services during our Sunday morning worship service for young people ages 0 to 10. Our children's ministry staff are experienced, caring, and committed to provide the very best care for your children. Every volunteer receives a background check and is required to receive training through Ministry Safe.

What kind of music should I expect to find?

You will find our song service times to be deeply reverent and joyful. Our goal is not to entertain or perform, but to glorify God and worship Him in spirit, in holiness, and in truth. We believe that music should be theologically rich, Biblically accurate, doctrinally instructional, magnify God’s attributes, revel in His redemptive work, and testify to the Lord’s working in our lives.

What’s the preaching like?

At Community of Grace, we are committed to Christ-centered expository preaching. Expository preaching simply means that the content and intent of Scripture text is proclaimed within its historical, literary, and redemptive contexts. We believe that expository preaching should be Christ-centered because the person and work of Jesus is the heart of the Bible’s message. Jared C. Wilson states, “Everything the Bible teaches, whether theological or practical, and everywhere it teaches, whether historical or poetical or applicational or prophetic, is meant to draw us closer to Christ, seeing him with more clarity and loving him with more of our affections.”

How long are your services?

We gather at 10:30AM for worship and services typically last an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes.
