OUR VISION
Our vision is to be a church-planting church. Our desire is to see an ever-increasing number of gospel-centered, disciple-making churches established in western, NY that will have a regional and global impact for the furtherance of God's kingdom.
Because of this, we are actively involved in funding and assisting the planting of Fieldstone Church which launchedin early 2022.
We also voluntarily cooperate with other like-minded churches in Western New York.
Located in a richly diverse area, Community of Grace also has the unique opportunity to “reach the nations within our nation.” Approximately 15,000 people from various countries live here in Buffalo! Many of these immigrants, students, and refugees come from “closed countries” where they have had little or no access to the gospel. Our church will seek to aggressively reach the richly diverse international community for Christ with the intent of thoroughly equipping them for gospel-spreading, disciple-making ministry when and if they return to their various countries.
Our hearts are burdened as we contemplate the gravity of the task God has given to us. Recently, the city of Buffalo was ranked as one of the least Biblically-minded cities in America. By God’s grace and for His glory, we pray that many will come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and be equipped for gospel-centered ministry!
OUR VALUES
Gospel. Community. Mission. These three words really summarize what Community of Grace is all about!
GOSPEL. We are a gospel-centered church. This means that “the gospel – and Jesus Himself – is our greatest hope and boast, our deepest longing and joy, and our most passionate song and message. It means that the gospel is what defines us as Christians, unites us as brothers and sisters, changes us as sinners/saints and sends us as God’s people on mission” (Joe Thorn). The gospel is the good news of all that God has done, is doing, and will do for His people through Jesus Christ. To find out more about this good news, we could encourage you to click here.
COMMUNITY. The gospel forms a new community. In Jesus Christ, God has adopted us into His family and has broken down the dividing walls of hostility that separate us. We want to magnify the beauty and power of the gospel by worshipping, serving, and living together as the redeemed family of God.
MISSION. The mission of the church is to make, mature, and multiply disciples of Christ (Mt.28:18-20). We're committed to this mission because "God’s goal for the whole world and the whole of human history is to glorify his beloved Son in the midst of the people He has rescued and transformed" (Tony Payne).
